Master John Elikplim Ayitey, the Outgoing Senior School Prefect of the 2024/2025 Batch, delivering a heartfelt address.

A SPEECH BY MASTER JOHN ATITEY ELIKLIM, OUTGOING SENIOR SCHOOL PREFECT, TO MARK THE 30TH GRADUATION, SPEECH AND PRIZE-GIVING DAY OF CREATOR SCHOOLS, TEMA.

Rev. Chairman, Our capable MD, Board and Management Team Members of Creator Schools, Distinguished Guest Speaker and other Distinguished Guests in our midst, Knowledgeable staff members, Our wonderful and caring parents, Inspirational old students, Potential Continuing Students, My fellow Triumphant graduating class of 2025, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Today marks another historic milestone in the life of my great school, CREATOR, and it is the occasion of our 30th Graduation, Speech and Prize-Giving Day. As the outgoing Senior Prefect of the school, I feel profoundly elated to be assigned the honorable responsibility of presenting my handover speech.

Ladies and gentlemen. A year ago at this same venue, I took the Student Leadership oath that effectively ushered me into office as the 29th Senior Prefect of Creator Schools. On behalf my of fellow prefects, I resolved to work in collaboration with the school authority to enforce the school’s disciplinary and values codes.

Indeed, the days waxed into weeks and the weeks into months and by God’s grace, my fellow prefects and I are handing over the baton of leadership to our elected predecessors.

By way of our achievements as a Prefectorial team, we played a pivotal role in ensuring that our compound looked spick and span all the the time.

We also expeditiously organized the student body to get seated for internal programmes designed for the audience of students.

On an empowering note, we had the opportunity to interact with our juniors and sensitized them on the need for them to study hard and adhere to laid down school rules.

Besides, we assisted in resolving minor disputes among our mates and other juniors down the academic ladder.

Perhaps one of the greatest successes we chalked, which is a priceless life skill, was the leadership traits we acquired by virtue of our one-year mandate as prefects. We thank the student body for the opportunity to serve them. Leadership is about serving the people.

Rev. Chairman. On the contrary, I must intimate that all was not smooth-sailing during my tenure of office. As the adage goes, ” Angels are bright, but the brightest angel fell.” Regrettably, a handful of students were unruly towards our teachers. Some students greatly got our teachers  pained by not doing and submitting their assignments for evaluation. In all these, I wish to humbly apologize for our indiscretion and to ask for forgiveness, for as the saying goes, ” To err is human and to forgive is divine.”

Ladies and gentlemen our graduation today is the product of a medley of the varied support we received from diverse sources, which I feel obliged to acknowledge with gratitude.

Foremost, we thank the Almighty God for ordering our steps throughout our 9 or more years of education at Creator Schools. There were many health challenges along the line. Corona Virus came on board with its troubles, but failed to make a disciple of any one of us. We have lived to see this day and we are profoundly grateful to the Lord.

We heartily applaud our very hardworking teachers across the value chain, from the Preschool through the JHS for not only teaching us well but for also shaping our character, morally. We have been empowered to do exploits beyond the frontiers of Creator Schools and promise not to waiver in our mandate to excel. Thank you, Creator Schools, for helping us to Consider, Read, Explore, Analyse and Tackle for Results. Creato, you are second to none.

In fact, our list of benefactors will be incomplete, if I fail to salute our results-producing School Board and Management. Oceanful of thanks to you for the life transforming activities and infrastructural facilities which you invested in, such as our well-resourced library, beautifully refurbished ICT Lab, Well-equipped Science and Language labs, among others, to enhance our holistic development. Thank you manifold.

Finally, I wish on behalf of my graduating mates to express our unquantifiable gratitude to our beloved and resourceful parents for investing their limited resources and time into our educational agenda. Moms and Dads, we salute you this day and wish you God’s blessings.

Rev. Chairman, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your audience.
